Wet Nose OBT - Obedience and Behavior Training For Dogs

Available for Adoption

Jersey is 6 years old, born 11-13-03.  Has been in good health, no medical issues. Had bilateral TPLO's in 05.
She is a bit shy at first but is good with people, more shy around men. I think she would do better in a home with older children, if any.
Needs to be the only dog in the house. Does not do well with other dogs.
Loves to run agility, has been thru advanced obedience.

Please contact us if you would be interested in adding Jersey to your family.

If you like to jog he will be right by your side.  He loves to take walks and will out run you.  Are you training for a marathon and want a partner or just staying in shape?  He will be this along with being your life long companion.  That's Emmett.

Emmett is a mellow, gentle, playful, loving and friendly one-year-old, 60-pound, American Bulldog looking for a new loving home.

Emmett was living with a 20-year-old guy who joined the Navy; his poor mom is suffering from cancer and didn’t have the energy to care for a dog.  Emmett was lucky to find a safe place with Lake Shore Animal Shelter, and even better - landed in a fantastic foster home.

Emmett gives plenty of tail wags and kisses, is playful, and is friendly with other dogs - and good with dog-friendly cats. He already knows the commands sit, leave it, and give paw.  With a little more training, he’ll make a wonderful companion.

Emmett is crate-trained and housebroken, does well with children – but does best with older kids who he can’t knock down in his happy enthusiastic manner.

He loves to go for walks, and although he’s a strong boy, he is good on leash.  In fact, when he's in the mood, he brings his foster mom his leash so they can take a walk together.

Emmett loves to play with soccer balls, tennis balls, bones, and toys.  His only fault is that he loves people and other dogs so much, he’ll jump a fence to get to them, so he should never be left unattended in the yard.  He is extremely healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies and distemper vaccines, micro-chipped and heartworm-tested.  To meet and possibly adopt him, please contact his foster mom JJ at jojoann1c3@sbcglobal.net or 708-652-3475.  His adoption fee of $150 benefits the rescued pets of Lake Shore Animal Shelter.

LINDY - Poor Lindy has been at Crawford County Humane Society in Robinson, IL for way too long and needs help now! It's amazing Lindy has not been adopted or rescued yet, she is such a nice girl! She appears to be some sort of Boxer/Shepherd/Lab mix and is a great medium sized dog. Lindy is very mild mannered and gentle and is OK with both dogs and cats. Please give Lindy a chance, this poor girl really needs a break! Please contact Samantha at harrisam15@yahoo.com for more info if you can help, transport can be arranged.

Scout is a natural eared Dobe - and he is hilarious. He's a smaller guy, and his paws aren't big so we are guessing he will stay smaller. He's young - maybe 8 - 10 months old? Hard to tell due to his size. He acts every bit a puppy and is playing well with another dog.

Scout came from an animal control, so we unfortunately don't know anything about his backround, but he is sweet, does a proper Dober-lean, and when his nub wiggles...well....it's not *just* his nub - his whole rear end wiggles too! He loves, loves, loves the marrow bones out in the yard and the Nylabones in the house. Scout will definitely need to go to "finishing" school as he doesn't know anything, but he said he's willing to learn.

Please contact us if you would be interested in adding Scout to your family.

Addante
3 year old male
Large pit-mastiff mix

Addante is a big ball of fun. He's very playful and lovable...a sweet 'n silly goofball! He loves walks, toys and especially balls of all kinds.

Because he's a big, active guy, too many people have passed him over. That's a terrible shame, because Addante is an AWESOME dog. He just hasn't found his "person" yet.

Addante was picked up as a stray by Animal Control in Waukegan. Scheduled for euthanasia, he was literally on the table, sedated, when a perceptive animal control officer burst in and stopped the proceedings. She saw something special in him, and so do we. Hopefully, you will, too!

Because of our chronic shortage of foster homes, Addante has lived in a kennel for nearly two years. He has a ton of love to give, and truly deserves to be in a home. He absolutely craves attention and massages. He will twist himself into a big, wiggly pretzel to keep you from taking your hands off of him.

He gets along with other good-sized dogs, but not small dogs or cats. (If there's another dog in the home Midwest Rescue would arrange an introduction to make sure they'd be compatible.) Because of his size, he's not the best choice for a family with small children.

Addante already knows some commands. However, Midwest Rescue's adoption agreement includes formal obedience training. Because Addante is a kennel dog, Midwest Rescue will reimburse the owner for basic obedience training.

Addante is a big, sweet guy who desperately deserves a chance. For more information or to complete an application, visit: http://www.midwestrescueabull.org
